The Cleft of the Rock Brings Forth the Glory

Sitting on a rock at the little pebble beach near my home, I was enjoying the family of ducks sunning themselves about thirty feet from me. A gaggle of geese honked overhead as they practiced for their impending long flight south.

The Lord has had me captive at His feet for close to a year, sharing so much more about Himself than I ever knew in the thirty years that I have walked with Him. During this time of listening and learning, I had dropped all my busy-ness of doing and sharing about Him.

Reclining against the sheer vertical rock face, I felt something soft at my back. Surprised, I turned around to see a lovely plant with bright yellow flowers protruding out of a narrow deep crevice. The Lord demonstrated to me how something so beautiful could come forth out of a deep, dark, barren place.

God covered Moses in the cleft of a rock as His Glory passed by. (Ex. 33: 22) Likewise, it is in the secret place in Christ, the Rock, where the Father reveals Himself. The secrets of the Father are hidden in Jesus Christ. The Father draws you to Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But Jesus reveals the Father’s heart.

The Father is not only revealed in the Son of Man in all that He did and said, but He is also a unique Person who longs to reveal Himself to you. It is good to know that the Father loves you with an everlasting love. But, how would you feel if you had a daddy who wrote you a letter every day telling you how much you mean to him, but you never got to hear or see him?

You were expressly created to have a relationship with the Father. If you’re like me, then you may come to a point of crying out: “Yes, I know you love me, but I just can’t hear you!” Well, finally I decided to drop everything I was so busy doing and take Him seriously at His Word.

Are you hungry to see His Glory, hear Him speak, feel Him lifting you onto His lap, and call Him Daddy? Then, come and creep in the cleft of the Rock that was hewn for you. It is a place of peace and safety. It may seem dark for a while, but know that it’s the Hand of the Almighty that is covering you. Share your life with Him with adoration and thanksgiving; not with petitions. There is a time for prayer, and He knows what you need. However, getting to know Him intimately flows out of quiet, worshipful adoration.

With Wings As Eagles

The Father loves you as much as He loves Jesus, and that goes for each one of us! Awesome truth; marvellous Love! “Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4: 10)

To Moses, nothing was more important than to see God’s glory. God saw his hunger and rewarded him for it. It may take a while to be hidden in the crevice, but you will emerge basked in His glory, and the world will see that you have been with God!

How Effective Are Dog Training Videos?

Dog training can be very stressful, especially if you’re stressed by time. But, there are easy and free resources available that can help you turn it into a very enjoyable and fun pastime. Along with practical help from friends, family members, training classes, and books, dog training videos have become the latest trend.

Dog-training videos are almost as effective as personal professional dog training. Videos offer lots of handy hints, advice and techniques. The beauty about them is that you can see where you may have been making mistakes, and can correct them by repeating the exact manoeuvres as you are watching them.

The market is glutted with dog-training videos. They can be found in any store where videos are sold as well as pet stores, and on the internet. You can read reviews, personal opinions and success stories online about which video to choose. Best of all, there are excellent sites with free professional videos to watch. The one I highly recommend and use myself is: Puppy Training Video Tips

There are a number of different types of dog-training videos, and they are all presented differently. There are even videos that focus on the dog’s point of view, with the dog doing the talking and no handler present. It’s unique, and may help you, but watching the body language of the handler is important in teaching you exactly how to handle your pup.

Then there are videos that show the handler and a dog in a rather sterile environment, and you learn the most basic steps on how to make your dog obey specific commands. These type of videos, although informative, can be boring and may cause you to lose interest quickly.

What you should consider is the type of dog- training videos that not only teach obedience, but also show you the pitfalls of training. For instance, you need to learn what kind of accidents could happen during training or with the wrong type of training, as well as what to do if your dog decides he isn’t interested in being trained.

The best type of videos, especially if you’re a beginner, is the ones with a number of beginner handlers and young untaught dogs. These videos will teach what to look out for while training your pup, so you can be aware of any possible consequences and how to correct them.

Dog training videos are a great training aid, especially for inexperienced handlers and their pups. They are very cost effective and great timesavers. Enjoy your dog training videos with your pup, and make the training period a delight!

How to Train Your Boxer Pup

The Boxer is exceptionally playful, energetic and can be demanding – but in a frisky, good-natured way. This breed of dog is extremely loyal and, once you have developed a friendship, it lasts forever.

The boxer is unique in that it is very intelligent. Not everyone can handle boxers as they need a lot of attention and training. Their keen intelligence can become troublesome as they quickly learn how to get what they want.

Boxer dog training involves teaching them to become guard dogs. That is their main character trait. People who are not familiar with boxers often assume that they are naturally aggressive when, in fact, the opposite is true. They are one of the most playful breeds. Their strong physique and aggressive look are partly to blame for putting fear in people’s hearts. In fact, boxers who are not trained properly might well become aggressive.

Puppy Training Video Tips

Because of their intelligence boxers can be very stubborn. You must realize that there will be times when you ask your pup to do something, he may well look you in the face and basically tell you where to go. Your boxers knows that it is supposed to obey when you command it to do something, but will tend to decide it can’t be bothered and ignore you. The main thing to remember in these circumstances is to be patient.

Training your boxer pup should start as early as six weeks old. When you do this in a social, playful atmosphere, and keep it exciting and consistent way, you will find that it is more likely to listen.

The main concentration of your boxer training should be socialization. In order for your boxer to become a very friendly dog, it needs to be trained to become one. Boxers especially need to get accustomed to other dogs and people. The best way to do this is taking training classes so they will be trained alongside other dogs.

When your boxer reaches 13-16 weeks old, it’s time for some serious training. At this stage it will test for dominance. It may nip at you and refuse to listen to you in an effort to prove that it is the more dominant one. You must be a strong leader at this time by demonstrating that acting like that will not be tolerated under any circumstance!

Boxers can be genuinely lovable family dogs and would make you proud to have as a pet. In fact, they would actually prefer to sit on your lap and cuddle than anything else. Train your boxer early with some serious boxer dog training, and you can be assured you will have a impressive, loyal family friend!

Living in Kingdom Victory

When God directed Moses to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, He not only gave him all the tools, but also guided him every step of the way.

“Our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink; for they drank of the spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.” (1 Cor. 10: 1-4)

Paul starts this chapter with an admonition that he does not want us to be ignorant of the significance of this. It is easy to take the accounts in the book of Exodus as sacred history that involved only those involved at that time.

This passage is a depiction of how God loves, leads and protects. How awesome to be under a cloud by day and led by a pillar of fire at night, eh? Just think; you would not even have to work for a living, as manna would just fall from heaven fresh every day except for the extra day of rest when you did not even have to go out and pick it up!

As a child of the Most High, you are baptized into Jesus, covered with His blood, and led by the fire of the Holy Spirit inside you! The blood of a lamb on their doorposts spared the Israelites’ firstborn sons. How much more powerful is the blood of the Lamb!

The Hebrews feared getting close to the Father lest they die as the earth trembled when He spoke. They preferred to let Moses do the communicating. But the Father created you in order to walk and talk with you as He did with Adam and Eve.

Just as He led those who believed and walked in His ways into the Promised Land, He is leading you to enter into His Kingdom here on earth. Yes, there were giants in the land and many adversaries, but He promised that His Presence would go with them. He would fight their battles, and He did – not by might; not by power, but by His Spirit.

The Father loves you with an everlasting love, and He has promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Yes, you too are facing giants, but with God all things are possible to those who believe.

Unlike the Israelites, you are blessed with His Grace and the Holy Spirit living inside you. When you were born again, you were translated into His glorious Kingdom. Yes, right now you are in His kingdom, which your Father wants you to experience on earth as it is in heaven.

Jesus came so that you might have life and life more abundantly. There is no sickness, pain, strife, and war in heaven, and on the cross He conquered the god of this world, who causes all the hardships. He has given you the tools. In His Name you can come against all your obstacles and do mighty exploits. You can do all things in Christ, who strengthens you! (Phil. 4: 13) He has won the war, but you have to declare it out loud and let the devil know whose you are, and that you believe what He has done for you. All things are possible to him who believes!

How to Start Basic Dog Training

“How do you get your dog to sit when you tell him to? Mine doesn’t want to listen to me!”, “How does your dog heel so well?”, “Wow! He comes when you tell him to!” Does that sounds familiar? If it does, take some time to learn a little bit of basic dog training.

Starting to train your dog at a young age is crucial as the first few months of his life is when you will have the greatest influence on your pup. That is the time when you can mold your little ball of fluff into the fullgrown dog you want to have.

Puppy Training

The most basic dog training is to get your pup to sit and come. Once it learns those two commands, it will be ready and eager to learn more. These commands are needed for various different reasons, like in competitions. The command to sit will instantly stop your dog from jumping, and “come!” is the all-important one. For instance, when you take your dog for a walk and let him off the leash, you would not want to run around the park shouting: “get here right this instance”. Your lack of control over Fido would be evident as well as rather embarrassing!

Teaching your dog to come to you requires only the most basic of techniques but a lot of repetition. The simplest way to get him to come is to have a toy in one hand and a treat in the other. Simply walk away from your pet, holding out the toy and excitedly calling it to come to you,. Then give the treat for obedience. Whatever command you use the first time you train your pup to come to you, keep using it from then on so as not to confuse the animal. Doing this several times a day is very effective. However, it is advisable to intersperse the training with lots of long breaks. This helps turn it into an enjoyable game for both trainer and pet, and don’t forget the treats!

Teaching the command to sit could take a bit longer but this also is very basic dog training. After you have mastered the “come” command, call your canine friend to you, place your hand on the end of its back, and say “sit” while gently pushing down on the backside. When puppy’s bottom drops down to the ground, give a treat and lots of praise. In order to prolong the sitting position, merely delay the treat and the praise. Once seated, keep eye contact while delaying the time to bend down and give the treat.

Basic dog training is simple and very effective. It should also be fun for both you and your dog. It doesn’t have to take hours every day. Even five 5 minutes consistently every time will bring great obedience results. The rewards are great for you, but your dog’s greatest pleasure – beside the treats – is to please its master.

Discovering Your Own Creative Identity

Many people are followers who want to imitate others, who become their idols. They spend money they cannot afford on the latest name brands, fads and gadgets just to be “in.”

There is much hidden potential in you. Wondering how you can bring out the real you and proudly proclaim it? You are uniquely and wonderfully made. The more you allow God to show you who you are in Him, the more you will discover strengths and talents you may never have been aware of before. You will gradually display all the gifts that are inherent in you in a genuine and natural way.

The Father loves you with an everlasting love and He wants to see you excell in everything you set your hand to. He has created you to be creative in your own right with your own identity.

As you become more assured of your unique personal identity, the more you will notice that other people gravitate towards you. You no longer will have an urge to want to emulate others. Instead, others might want to be like you!

The world looks on outward appearances, trying to gain social approval by dressing or acting in a certain manner. They tend to focus on being conformed to the latest trends and ways of those they want to impress and/or be conformed to. They merely look on your outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees your thoughts, feelings and relationships, and that’s what counts.

Are you reflecting His love wherever you go? You may be dressed in the latest fashion, but how will you react when suddenly someone offends you? When your peace of mind is shattered in an instant, you realize that your fashion sense is no match for the security of knowing that you are His beloved!

Only the assurance that you are unique in God’s eyes will keep you calm, cheerful and unruffled even in the face of turmoil. Ask the Lord for His guidance and follow the still small voice in your heart. A feeling of peace is a sure sign that you are in His Will.

Imitation cannot give you peace. Therefore, be aware of your attitude, thoughts, words and desires. The sure way to maintain your peace is by repenting of any sign of offense as quickly as possible.

External beauty is temporary; inner beauty is eternal. This is the beautiful you that God sees. So seek God’s love, and focus on Him.

When you are secure in His divine beauty in your own heart, you will then also see it in others. Remember: You are His beloved, and He is yours, and His banner over you is Love!

What Is the Significance of the Sign of Jonah?

When they asked Jesus for a sign to prove that He was the Messiah, He was offended that after all the miracles and teachings they still needed more proof.

With Wings As Eagles

He told them that the only sign for that unbelieving generation would be the sign of Jonah, but that there was one greater than Jonah here. (Mat. 12: 39 -41) Just as Jesus was three days and three nights in the grave, so Jonah was three days and nights in the whale’s belly. This, however, is where the comparison ends.

The picture has become so clear to me recently. Just picture Jesus, who chose to come to earth as a man out of Love. He so loved all of us sinners, that He would show us the way, die, and then give us the choice to become like Adam before the fall.

God is Love, and love is proved in relationship. God, who needed nothing and no one created Adam because of His Love. He wanted to put all His Love into action, and he gave Adam a wife for the same reason.

Jonah was sent by God as a prophet to share God’s love to the Ninevites. This was not a fable as they were bitter enemies of Israel, and Nineveh was a real city. Jonah had no love for them. Instead, he feared them and also knew in his heart that they would convert and that God could use them against Israel again.

Whereas Jesus was driven by love; Jonah operated in fear, hatred and disobedience. The One walked in total obedience, laid down His life willingly, and forgave everyone at the moment of death. The other rebelled, lost his life in a severe storm stirred up by God due to his own disobedience, and at the last moment begged for forgiveness.

Jesus had to die in order to bring about God’s purpose on the earth. Jonah died due to disobedience. Although the Scriptures don’t say that he physically died, the odds of him surviving this ordeal for 3 days are very slim. The main reason I believe he died is that eventually our Lord would use it as a sign signifying his own death and resurrection to an unbelieving generation.

God is not mocked! His Word shall not return void, but will accomplish that which it is sent to do. (Isa. 55: 11) The same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the grave not only restored Jonah in soul and body, but also directed the fish to eject him at an appointed spot on the seashore.

Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection multitudes came into the Kingdom of God, and He was glorified and seated forever at the right hand of the Father. Jonah’s preaching brought all the Ninevites to repentance. However, he remained bitter and unrepentant.

God so loves everyone, including the worst sinners, that He died for all and welcomes whosoever will into His Kingdom. Are you able and willing to share His love with those who you may think don’t deserve it?

Love Has Lifted Me!

Do You Know Him?

Love Has Lifted Me!

What awesome love caused a triune God to separate because you and I could not fulfill our part of His eternal covenant! Before the foundation of the world He knew that we would break every condition He had prepared to free us from the slavery of sin.

There was only One worthy to take our place. Jesus decided that He would become man in order to pay to price once and for all so you do not have to. He left the splendour of heaven and the bond of the Father and Holy Spirit, which had never been separated even though He knew that you would reject, hurt and kill Him!

He was God, but He came as the son of man. As man and endured all the trials and temptations known to mankind. Can you imagine what could have happened, had He succumbed to any temptation or changed His mind at the last minute on the cross?

Through Him all things were created, (John 1: 3) and if the creator part of God were no longer God… where would we be? Only His totally unconditional perfect Love for you kept Him from cancelling His assignment. He endured jeering, unbelief, hatred, excruciating pain and a shameful death. He did it all so that His blameless body would be a substitute for yours, and that He neither would nor could ever break that covenant.

All your sins, pains and sicknesses He bore, took them into hell, and even there also suffered the consequences for you. He loves you that much! Your name is carved in His hand by a spike.

The cost of bearing His Name and His anointing is priceless. You have been lifted up out of eternal damnation by the most selfless Love despite your sinful contribution to His suffering and death. While bearing your iniquities on the cross, He forgave you because you did not know what you were doing!

“Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the prince of this world be cast out, and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

In the King James Version the word “men” is italicized, which means it was not in the original but assumed by the translators to be the missing word. When He was lifted up on the cross, all people were not drawn to Him. Instead they mocked and despised Him.

As He was speaking about the judgment, and I believe that the verse could be read that He “will draw all judgment unto me.” That is exactly what happened when all your sins, pain, sickness and all manner of evil was supernaturally drawn unto Him. (Isa. 53: 4 – 5)

Nevertheless, the Lord did draw to Himself the flesh of mankind and when He was lifted up into heaven as the firstborn of many brethren, His was the first human body to do so.

His Love has lifted me, and it will lift whosoever acknowledges His act of love. No one is left out, and no amount or degree of sin can keep you from that love. As Love has lifted me, so gladly lift my heart, hands and voice in praise and thanksgiving to Him!

He took your judgment on the cross, and further paid for its consequences once and for all in the depth of hell for you. Therefore, there is no more judgment on you. The debt has been paid.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Rom. 8: 1)

The Benefits of Sitting Still and Listening

Sit still, and watch your destiny unfold. How good are you at sitting still when your life or health is on the line?

One of the hardest things to do is to just sit in anticipation of a very important outcome. I learned that the hard way when my husband Jack was given no chance to live. It seemed totally ludicrous to even consider praying for healing since he was on total life support. But I did. I prayed up a storm, as I believed God’s Word to me:

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15: 7)

Once I had laid my petitions on Him, I no longer had to carry the yokes of fear, despair, and stress.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4: 6 -7)

Truly, His peace filled me to the point that I knew that I knew that, despite all the impossible circumstances, my prayers had been answered. I kept hearing in my spirit: “I shall yet praise Him!” and could not stop praising and thanking Him.

Although it was a long time of sitting and waiting, it didn’t seem long. Within hours the tide turned. Then, very gradually, the full healing unfolded.

The secret to receiving the answer to your prayers is not praying ’til you drop; nor is it just sitting and waiting. The secret is asking in faith, without any doubt, (Jas. 1: 6 -7) and then with thanksgiving and praise expectantly waiting for the desired outcome.

Ruth was told to sit still and wait. But she had first sat at the feet of her redeemer in the secret place, covered by his mantle of protection. (Ruth 3: 7 – 18) Are you sitting daily in your secret place with the Most High under His protective covering?

You can read the Word, study it, and even hold a degree of Theology. The only way, however, to get to know Him intimately and to learn to hear His voice is to spend quiet time with Him. Only silent reflection will open your spiritual ears.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isa. 26: 3)

Therefore, friend, if you need God to answer prayers, first get to really know Him both through His Word and just talking to Him as your Daddy. He will become so real to you! You will come to trust Him unwaveringly and soon you will know that, because you have that relationship, that He wants to give you, His child, whatever you ask of Him.

“Be still and know that I am God” (Ps. 46: 10)

Keeping the Best Wine for Last

The very first miracle Jesus performed was turning water into wine at a wedding. Mary, who birthed the seed of God, uttered the words that brought forth the new wine. (John 2)

The vats that were filled with the water that Jesus turned to wine were for the purpose of foot washing. When you are washed, you only need to have your feet washed. (John 13: 10) If you have made Jesus your Lord, then you have you are washed with His Blood and need only ask Him to cleanse you of the dirt of your daily walk.

You are invited to the wedding feast, and the Lord wants to fill your vessel to the brim with new wine. When Jesus and His disciples wanted wine, there was none. No joyous celebration at a festive event.

When new wine is poured into old wineskins, they will tear due to fermentation. The new wine represents the Holy Spirit. His Glory today is being manifested in signs and wonders throughout the earth. The effervescence of this new wine is exploding from within the believers and spilling out over the old wine complacency of the church.

Now the bride, who is impregnated with the Seed of God: Jesus, the Word, is crying out for new wine. The old wine has run out. The bride is yearning for a deep, intimate relationship with the One who is so in love with her.

God has kept the best wine for the end. If you are hungrily seeking to know His Glory, you will be filled with this joy. The bridegroom is not coming for a lukewarm bride, who is not passionately longing to know Him intimately. He will reject such a one (Rev. 3: 16) and say that He never knew her! (Mat. 25: 1 – 12)

The first Pentecost drew thousands of souls into the Kingdom per day. (Acts 3) We are entering the last Pentecost, which is also the Hebrew Feast of Trumpets. The trumpet is being sounded to announce the soon coming King.

Up until now we have received “the former rain moderately,” but this is the time that: “he will cause to come down the… former rain and the latter rain in the first month [the feast of Trumpets], and the floors shall be full of wheat [souls hungry for the Gospel], and the vats shall be full of wine [gladness] and oil [the Holy Spirit].” (Joel 2: 22 – 32)

“The Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come, And let him that is athirst come.” (Rev. 22: 17)

“Oh taste and see that the Lord is good, for His mercy endures forever.” (Ps. 34: 8)
